Job Description
Job Title: Senior Manager - Ethics and Compliance
Location: Mumbai, India
About the role: The role responsible for driving Takeda India’s compliance agenda by balancing robust functional activities (risk assessments, monitoring, transparency reports, audits, data privacy) with strategic business partnership. The role requires navigating complex business environments, embedding Takeda’s Values, and ensuring compliance with internal policies, local regulations, and industry codes. The incumbent will work to implement corporate policies and procedures, develop, and provide relevant training to employees and third parties on compliance-related topics. The role will also involve business partnering and advisory support for compliance matters across franchises and support functions
Role Summary
Enterprise & Compliance Risk Intelligence
·Drive enterprise-wide and compliance-specific risk assessments powered by data analytics and predictive insights
·Translate risk signals into actionable strategies that strengthen governance and decision-making
Data Driven Monitoring Audits & Investigations
·Implement CRA (AI led), risk-based monitoring frameworks and audits for proactive detection and prevention
·Lead corporate investigations with a data-driven, forensics-enabled approach to uncover root causes, ensure accountability, and prevent recurrence.
·Shift from retrospective checks to real-time oversight
Governance & Regulatory Partnerships
·Strengthen RECC governance (LOC) and align with global/local frameworks (UNGCI, OPPI) through digital-first engagement and advocacy
·Champion transparent, value-driven external collaborations
Data Privacy & Transparency by Design
·Embed privacy-by-design principles into business processes, supported by automation and continuous compliance monitoring
·Lead digital transparency reporting to build trust with stakeholders
Third-Party Risk Ecosystem
·Orchestrate intelligent third-party risk management (TPRM) using advanced screening, continuous monitoring, and real-time risk scoring
·Ensure resilience across the extended enterprise
Culture & Capability Building
·Serve as a Values Ambassador, reimagining ethics and compliance learning through digital-first training, immersive communication, and gamified engagement
·Inspire a culture of ownership, integrity, and innovation
Organizational Transformation & Value-Based Care (VBC)
·Support transformation initiatives by embedding ethics and compliance in VBC models and organizational change programs
·Enable a future-ready, agile organization through scalable SOPs and adaptive frameworks
What You Bring to Takeda: Core Requirements:
• Exposure to the pharmaceutical, medical device, or related industries is preferable

Takeda’s value-based approach. Education, Competencies & Skills:
• A university degree or equivalent in scientific, business, or legal studies
12-15 years of relevant experience in ethics & compliance or risk management
• A post-graduate degree or relevant certification is desirable but not mandatory
• Professional certifications in relevant areas are a plus, but not essential
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, etc.)
• Basic knowledge of AI tools
• Hands-on knowledge of ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) is preferred but not essential. More about us:
