Job Description

About the role:

As an EHS Representative, you will ensure operation of the site in compliance with EHS compliance obligations and prevent harm to employees or the environment.

How you will contribute:

  • Coach and advise all levels of management in effective EHS leadership
  • Expert in identification and risk assessment of unsafe conditions
  • Expert in investigation of EHS events
  • Trainer for EHS programs
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the EHS Management System
  • EHS expert in project design and implementation
  • Identify the situations and events that have the potential to cause serious injuries, incidents or fatalities and prioritise corrective / preventive actions accordingly

  • Seek out solutions to enable easier work that creates safer conditions

  • Ensure that applicable professional certifications are maintained

  • Maintain knowledge of legal requirements, standards and other guidelines

What you bring to Takeda:

  • Federal diploma – Workplace safety and health protection specialist
  • Federal diploma – Fire safety specialist
  • 3 years minimum in a production / maintenance position
  • 3 years minimum as workplace safety specialist
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Excellent interpersonal skills

  • Continuous improvement and solution oriented

  • Proficient computer skills

  • Fluent in French and good working knowledge in English

Important Considerations:

At Takeda, our patients rely on us to create quality products and we aim to create a safe environment for our team members. As a result, we must follow strict rules in our manufacturing facilities to ensure we are not endangering the quality of the product or putting anyone at the site in harm's way. In this role, you may:

  • Work in a controlled environment requiring special gowning and wear protective clothing over the head, face, hands, feet and body. This may include additional hearing protection for loud areas.
  • Need to remove all make-up, jewellery, contact lenses, nail polish and/or artificial fingernails while in the manufacturing environment.
  • Work multiple shifts, including weekends, or be asked to work supplemental hours, as necessary.
  • Work around chemicals such as alcohol, acids, buffers that may require respiratory protection.
