Job Description

About the role:

Join us as our Materials Management Analyst. You will be responsible for planning and purchasing raw materials and components used to produce life-sustaining medicines at the Neuchâtel Facility. You will work in a fast-moving manufacturing environment, collaborating with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and cross-functional teams to maintain supply continuity and support business priorities.

How you will contribute

Reporting to the Supply Chain Head, you will own a portfolio of auxiliary materials and ensure material availability to support site production requirements through material planning and purchasing, raw material inventory management and material issue resolution and risk management. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Reviewing purchasing messages in a timely manner and taking appropriate action to ensure material availability for production needs
  • Creating and maintaining purchase orders in the ERP system, including order confirmations and expected delivery dates
  • Communicating regularly with suppliers to ensure purchase orders are fulfilled and delivered as expected
  • Coordinating with Takeda Buyer/Planners at other sites to transfer inventory between plants when needed
  • Leading cross-functional discussions to prioritize material release activities to meet business objectives
  • Providing visibility on stock-out dates to other departments to support their own activities, such as sampling, testing, and release
  • Leading the daily “Raw Material Tiers” meeting and taking or assigning actions as needed
  • Supporting new or revised material qualification efforts and placing purchase orders in relevant purchasing systems
  • Escalating material supply risks to the manager and informing internal stakeholders
  • Documenting and sharing supplier performance issues with appropriate internal functions, such as Procurement and Supplier Quality
  • Reviewing receiving errors with suppliers and Accounts Payable, and resolving issues
  • Resolving invoicing discrepancies related to quantities with Accounts Payable
  • Monitoring inventory on hand to ensure proper status and availability
  • Monitoring lot hold codes and release status, and escalating issues when needed
  • Driving periodic reviews of safety stock levels for BOM and non-BOM materials to ensure adequate coverage
  • Identifying and resolving excess, slow-moving, and obsolete inventory
  • Updating master data fields and MRP parameters, such as supplier lead times and safety stock levels
  • Gathering, analyzing, and reporting key performance data
  • Proposing, developing, and implementing planning strategies and scorecards that ensure quality, optimize cost, delivery, and service, and secure continued supply
  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and support corrective actions
  • Working with teammates and stakeholders to identify pain points and implement solutions
  • Leveraging software and digital tools to automate administrative and repetitive tasks and reduce paper waste
  • Identifying financial savings and cost avoidance opportunities
  • Participating in special projects and other relevant assignments as needed

What you bring to Takeda:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain, Finance, or a related field
  • MBA and/or APICS certification is an asset
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of Power BI is an asset
  • Advanced level of English
  • Solid understanding of GMP environments and requirements (past experience in the biotech, pharmaceutical, or a similarly regulated industry)
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in Procurement or Supply Chain, including transportation, warehousing, distribution, planning, purchasing, or related technical experience
  • Experience using ERP systems
  • Strong quantitative skills with experience in data management, analytics, and reporting
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong commitment to compliance with business and regulatory standards, including SOX, GMP, and departmental SOPs
  • Ability to develop digital tools and reports that simplify work and can be easily shared with others
