Job Description
Job Title: Medical Science Liaison
Location: Kazakhstan
How you will contribute:
- Serve as a field-based extension of the Therapeutic Area Medical Strategy Group
- Interact with external stakeholders in TAs for which Takeda has approved products or products in development and engages in appropriate scientific discussions to foster legitimate scientific exchange, or medical and clinical product profile according to Field Medical Interaction SOP
- Contact referral specialists to increase information sharing about diagnostic and other patient support programs and actualize patient profiles to be diagnosed via Takeda Diagnostics program
- Field visits to medical specialists in appropriate TAs to provide the latest medical data about Takeda innovative therapy (without promotion of brands)
- Identify and profile OLs
- Propose and use the most effective communication channels (e.g. DD&T, p2p, group events)
- Monitor and report safety and pharmacovigilance data
- Develop, implement and report all activities including field visits and events (MFE\CRM)
- Provide scientific input and participate in local medical and cross-functional initiatives
- Communicate key medical insights from OLs/HCPs to inform refinement of medical strategies or tactics
- Gain customer insights, opinions and feedback and engage with internal colleagues to connect business opportunities with internal resources
- Under the guidance of Medical Lead, provide scientific support for company-sponsored meetings
- Maintain a very high level of knowledge and understanding of the latest scientific/medical knowledge in the relevant therapeutic area by conducting literature research, reading clinical papers, attending conferences, courses and other relevant events.
What you bring to Takeda:
- Either ≥1 year working experience in clinical practice and/or in multinational pharmaceutical company or ≥ 2 year relevant work experience
- Medical education (MD is preferred, Medical, biological, pharmaceutical)
- Understanding of the Kazakhstani healthcare system
- Basic software skills, Word, Excel, Power Point
- English language B1/B2, Kazakh language proficiency is advantage
- Scientific Expertise - ability to serve as the expert internally and externally on the latest scientific, medical and patient management knowledge to add value to and uphold the scientific integrity of company's products in relevant TA
- Engagement Excellence - ability to foster and sustain a valued continuum of professional interchange with external stakeholders, including HCP and KOL management, understanding of HCP needs and beliefs, understanding oh HealthCare system in Kazakhstan. Ability to formulate KOL development plan and realize it on regional level
- Customer & Patient Centricity - ability to share and leverage the medical organization’s understanding of deep customer and patient insights and needs, to achieve goals in relevant TA and fulfil patients’ needs and understanding of patient's pathway
- Collaboration - ability to build and leverage highly functioning, collaborative networks of relationships focused on accomplishing Medical Affairs organization goals while promoting open dialogue and exchange of perspectives.
- Business acumen - ability to develop a holistic understanding of the big picture and articulate how one’s role in Medical Affairs pertains and contributes to core business functions, opportunities and organizational outcomes.
- Medical Affairs Role Expertise - Ensure one meets the company’s expectations for knowledge and expertise in medical affairs related to one’s role, in addition to compliance with all legal, regulatory, and other industry or company requirements; help others to uphold compliance and ethics standards
- Strategic Approach - understand strategic impact of and execute practical Medical Affairs plans to move Medical Affairs from a current to a desired state that focus on medically and patient related strategies, consistent with the long-term interests and priorities of the organization.
- Innovation - ability to implement MA related innovations and help test future possible innovations in both Medical Affairs services and processes to generate significant value for customers and patients.
