Job Description

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:

This position will lead Indirect Procurement in Brazil and SAM and will be responsible for supporting commercial business. The position will be the senior level contact interface between Business and the regional and global procurement organization. This role is responsible for ensuring the Regions’ and BU’s goals and strategies are met and accounted for and supported in the Procurement Organization’s strategies, plans and activities.  The Procurement Lead will be a critical member of the business unit’s Leadership Team. The position reports into Head of Procurement – GPD.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Lead indirect procurement team in Brazil and SAM to ensure a robust and sustainable procurement support that enables achievement of divisional and corporate business goals and objectives.

  • Develop and implement a regional procurement strategy that supports and enables the business to deliver their priorities whilst aligning with the Global Procurement Vision and strategy.

  • Through the application of rigorous tools, processes, systems, and techniques provide material and measurable business value (operational, financial, risk, innovation) to the business units and the LOCs in the region.

  • Develop and execute strategic procurement processes – category and supplier management, ‘purchase to pay’, etc.

  • Develop, monitor, and continuously improve the appropriate Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for the procurement function.

  • Ensure alignment between regional category activities and business requirements / needs in each LOC and BU.

  • Drive continuous improvement methodology while ensuring compliance and improving efficiencies and effectiveness.

  • Ensure a high level of reliability in customer and service delivery and maintain strong strategic relationships and partnerships with suppliers.

  • Establish strong relationships with key business partners while working closely with category managers.

  • Understand the challenges of the business environment, develop awareness of Takeda’s future direction and business challenges to successfully adapt appropriate strategy and structured approach to enable cost-effective support for the evolving needs.

  • Provide leadership, coordination and coaching to the team, ensuring they are trained enabling them to achieve the operational and financial metrics within their areas of responsibility and succeed in their roles

  • Conduct the individual performance management process and contribute any feedback to other resources as requested by their performance managers

  • Develop a succession plan for the team to support career development and ensure a pipeline of talent for the region

  • Coordinate with TBS and ensure the overall efficiency of the low value sourcing process through effective sourcing, transactional contracting, and maintenance of effective buying channels for the sub-region

  • Provide timely input as requested to the budgetary and OPEX process including expected spend levels, resource requirements and special projects for their sub-region.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, MBA is desired

  • 15+ years in-depth strategic and operational procurement experience withing FMCG and Pharma Industries with 5 years in leadership role.

  • Demonstrated success leading global teams to achieving delivery of procurement goals, customer service and employee satisfaction.

  • Documented experience leading cost reduction and value improvement programs

  • Fluent English is required.
