Job Description
About the Role:
This individual is expected to deliver high-quality differentiated strategies to serve Takeda’s short and long-term growth objectives for Growth & Emerging Markets (GEM). The Head of Program Management will assume responsibility for overall GEM operations, particularly around MRP/LRF forecasting, business development assessment, brand planning, market research & competitive intelligence, supply chain planning/coordination, launch milestones & KPI tracking, to maximize commercial potential for all of Takeda’s portfolio in GEM, including future product launches. The role will work across portfolio and organization to shape impact of and alignment with Global Functional support of GEM and lead highly cross-functional and cross-GEM initiatives and projects to deliver business impact.
This role will be based in Singapore and report to the Head of Strategy & Portfolio. This person will work closely with the Strategy & Portfolio team, GEM Areas & country organizations (LOCs) as well as cross functional groups in the region, including Business Operations, Medical Affairs, Market Access, Market Research, Compliance, Public Affairs, Communications, Digital, Supply Chain and Regulatory, and the company’s Global Functions. This person would understand deeply and broadly the competitive dynamics, customer needs, regulatory impacts and economic trajectory in GEM to provide input to the leadership team.
How you will Contribute:
- Enable operational excellence and business rhythm by leading the annual business planning cycle, including brand planning, MRP/MYC, LRF and KPI tracking, including providing guidance to Areas and LOCs, and overseeing the development, maintenance and enhancement of GEM forecasting models.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the effectiveness of governance and operational initiatives, continuously identifying areas for improvement to ensure efficient effective and customer centric support to Areas and co-creation LOCS.
- Lead and coordinate highly cross-functional, cross-GEM initiatives to maximize impact while streamlining operational elements.
- Work across portfolio and brand teams to lead and deliver key initiatives
- Laise with Global Functions to shape priorities and maximize impact of Global Functional support to GEM.
- Demonstrate an in-depth understanding of GEM markets, identifying business opportunities and developing analytics-based strategic plans. Skilled in establishing cross-functional and geographic partnerships to drive actionable decisions that delivers both short- and long-term growth, operational excellence and transformation.
- Proactively gather and interpret meaningful insights from business-related data to identify key trends across GEM.
- Manage the GEM calendar, strategic reviews, GM forum and performance tracking to ensure aligned execution across the region.
- Support transformation programs and capability building initiatives to enhance executional agility across GEM in partnership with other functions.
- Conduct impact analyses and provide decision support for GEM senior management.
- Collaborate with Global, GEM and LOC supply chain teams to ensure coordinated sales and operations planning, optimizing supply projects and alignment across the organization.
Critical functional knowledge
- Proven ability in marketing and sales and ability to develop approaches and methods to identify and derive market and customer that critical for launch sequences and maximizing launch product values.
- Proven ability to understand the GEM region, identify business opportunities, develop analytics-based strategic plans, establish cross-functional/geography partnerships and drives actionable decisions to deliver on short and long-term growth targets and operational excellence.
- Proven interpersonal and leadership skills to influence and build credibility with Area/Country GMs and to collaborate with them on implementing key initiatives.
Critical business expertise
- Strong financial knowledge to deeply understand the financial implications to GEM P&L.
Communication Skills:
- Excellent downwards communication skills to align several stakeholders with global and GEM strategy and vision.
- Excellent upwards communication skills to drive program excellence and engaging functional partners.

- Pragmatic use of digital to build capability and provide deep market and customer insights that are valuable to business and strategy planning

Additional Information
- Bachelor’s degree in Biological and Medical Sciences, or Medicine or Business Management or equivalent knowledge experience is preferred.
- Business knowledge, MBA preferred.
- Fluent English speaker to ensure effective communication across the region and to Global.
- More than 5 years of standard-setting performance in this role or a comparable role.
