Job Description

Lab Specialist MSAT Analytical (f/m/d)

Join Takeda as an Analytical Lab Specialist and apply your expertise in GMP-compliant testing, cell culture, and advanced analytical methods to drive innovation and excellence in MSAT Drug Substance and Drug Product development through a hands-on role.

How will you contribute:

  • Independently plan and execute analytical experiments to support MSAT Drug Substance (DS) and Drug Product (DP) studies, delivering accurate, reliable and timely results.
  • Act as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for assigned analytical methods, contributing to study design, hands-on execution and technical troubleshooting.
  • Implement and optimize new analytical methods in collaboration with international stakeholders, including authoring and maintaining required documentation.
  • Evaluate, interpret and document experimental results in compliance with GMP/GLP, laboratory quality standards and internal procedures, ensuring data integrity and traceability.
  • Own laboratory investigations and change controls, identifying root causes and implementing sustainable improvements.
  • Drive continuous improvement of analytical methods and documentation processes, including further development of paperless systems (DMS, ELN).
  • Maintain operational readiness of analytical equipment, ensuring qualification, calibration and maintenance, and coordinating cleanroom and BSL-1/BSL-2 area compliance.
  • Ensure compliant laboratory operations, including material management and collaboration with external service providers where required.
  • Adhere to EHS standards and contribute to a safe and compliant laboratory environment.
  • Collaborate effectively within cross-functional and international MSAT teams, communicating results clearly in English.

What you bring to Takeda:

  • Completed vocational training in a scientific discipline (e.g., Laboratory Technician, MTA, BTA, CTA) with additional qualification (e.g., Chemietechniker) and/or several years of relevant laboratory experience.
  • Strong hands-on experience in cell culture (adherent and/or suspension), vaccine/live virus handling and/or analytical method execution.
  • Practical experience with molecular analytical methods (e.g., qPCR, dPCR, ELISA) and/or physico-chemical methods (e.g., HPLC, LC-MS, KF titration).
  • Experience working in GMP/GLP-regulated environments with solid understanding of documentation practices, data integrity and deviation management.
  • Confident execution and continuous improvement of SOPs and analytical protocols.
  • Experience implementing or transferring analytical methods is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with electronic laboratory systems (ELN, DMS, MES) and basic data analysis tools.
  • Strong equipment ownership mindset, including coordination of maintenance and calibration activities.
  • High level of accuracy, reliability and accountability in experimental execution and documentation.
  • Strong quality and compliance mindset with a structured and independent working approach.
  • Effective team player with the ability to collaborate across MSAT (DS/DP), Engineering and other departments.
  • Problem-solving orientation with a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic laboratory environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Proactive attitude with curiosity for new technologies, digital tools and process optimization.
