Job Description
As a Reliability Engineering Intern (RE Intern), you will have the opportunity to support life-saving manufacturing operations by assisting with the management and maintenance of process and utility systems. Under the guidance and supervision of your manager, you will gain hands-on experience with reliability engineering concepts in a highly regulated manufacturing environment.
How You Will Contribute
Duties will include the following, under manager supervision:
Review as-built P&IDs (Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams) for process systems.
Support the Process Safety Management (PSM) Program by updating and maintaining equipment databases for systems within PSM boundaries across the site.
Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to support process maintenance systems.
Develop an understanding of reliability engineering concepts and their real-world applications.
Support the review and/or creation of maintenance job plans and procedures.
Support the review and/or creation of Bill of Materials and critical spare parts for equipment.
Apply engineering concepts and develop solutions to problems of simple to medium complexity.
Internship Development Opportunities
As an intern in this program, you will learn:
How to apply engineering concepts to real-world applications, including:
Operations and maintenance of manufacturing/utilities systems
Safety programs and compliance
General engineering best practices
Practical approaches to solving day-to-day operational challenges within a large-scale manufacturing plant.
Application of engineering concepts to ensure compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.
Job Requirements:
This position is on-site at Takeda’s Social Circle, GA facility.
Must be pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Biomedical Engineering, or another relevant field.
Demonstrated understanding of basic engineering concepts (e.g., Fluid Mechanics, Thermodynamics, Heat Transfer, and/or Circuits).
Ability to read and interpret P&IDs and other technical drawings.
Strong communication skills, ability to collaborate and work effectively with professionals across multiple disciplines (e.g., EHS, Quality, Operations).
Internship Eligibility
Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a permanent basis without requiring sponsorship
Must be currently enrolled in a degree program graduating December 2026 or later
The internship program is 10-12 weeks depending on the two start dates (May 26th-August 14th or June 15th- August 21st)
The intern must be able to commit to one of these time frames
Able to work full time 40 hours a week during internship dates
Takeda does not provide a housing stipend or relocation support for the U.S Summer Internship Program

$21.00 - $46.00
The estimated hourly range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual hourly wage offered will depend on the candidate’s school year/level to be entered following completion of internship.The actual hourly wage offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.
