Job Description
About the Role:
The position is responsible for the coordination of receiving, segregation, sorting, and storage of human blood plasma in preparation of plasma production runs in the Teardown department.Lead Operator will perform advanced troubleshooting tasks for the Automated Plasma Dispositioning System (APDS) Manual Sorting Line.Under the direction of Management, Lead Operator is responsible for executing all processes in production, while strictly adhering to cGMP, environmental health and safety guidelines and other related regulations that could apply.Lead Operator is expected to fully participate in both departmental projects and any quality working teams when applicable, as well as lead assigned projects. Assigned training records must be kept up to date.Due to business need, employees may be required to work overtime and/or support operations on an alternate shift.
How you will Contribute:
Support all Plasma Operations manufacturing activities by performing plasma loading, carton opening/disposal, truck receiving, and inventory management using MES, APDS, and JDE systems.
Lead day-to-day floor operations by coordinating schedules, training, breaks, and coaching team members to ensure safety, efficiency, and adherence to production plans.
Oversee the sorting, segregation, and disposition of plasma units—including those marked “On Hold” or “Quarantine”—ensuring compliance with cGMP, SOPs, and GDP documentation standards.
Troubleshoot issues with the Automated Plasma Dispositioning System (APDS) and Manual Sorting Line, escalating complex problems and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
Maintain accurate records through cycle counts, bin dives, pallet checks, reconciliation reports, and Teardown Release Plan completion.
Assist in scheduling and coordination of plasma dispositioning, teardown, and delivery activities in partnership with Department Specialists.
Operate Powered Industrial Trucks (PIT), including forklifts and pallet jacks, and participate in required departmental stretching and safety practices.
May handle hazardous waste removal in compliance with environmental health and safety protocols.
What you Bring to Takeda:
High school diploma or GED plus 6+ years of related experience, or AA or higher with 4+ years of experience required.
Strong understanding of cGMP, GDP, and regulatory compliance in a manufacturing or cleanroom environment
Proven experience leading or coordinating production floor activities in a regulated industry
Demonstrated ability to perform advanced troubleshooting of automated systems and manual sorting lines
Proficiency with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), APDS, and ERP platforms such as JDE
Ability to train, coach, and mentor team members while fostering a collaborative work environment
Comfortable operating Powered Industrial Trucks (PIT), including forklifts and pallet jacks
Experience managing shift schedules, breaks, and personnel development to support operational efficiency
Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and documentation skills
Capability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities and support cross-functional teams
Willingness to work overtime and flexible shifts based on business needs
Experience with handling hazardous waste and understanding of safety protocols (if applicable)
Important Considerations:
At Takeda, our patients rely on us to deliver quality products. As a result, we must follow strict rules in our manufacturing facilities to ensure we are not endangering the quality of the product. In this role, you may:
Must be able to lift, push, pull and carry up to 50 lbs.
In general, the position requires a combination of sedentary work and walking around observing conditions in the facility.
Will be exposed to warehouse and manufacturing areas at +5°C and -20°C or colder
Will be exposed to human blood plasma
Must be able to work in controlled environments requiring special gowning. Will be required to follow gowning requirements and wear protective clothing over the head, face, hands, feet, and body, as required.
No make-up, jewelry, contact lenses, nail polish or artificial fingernails may be worn in the manufacturing environment.
Will work in a cold environment
Must be able to work multiple shifts, including weekends.
Must be able to work overtime as required.
May be required to work in a confined area.

$27.60 - $43.37The estimated hourly wage range reflects an anticipated range for this position.
