Join our Swedish Medical Affairs team as a field-based Medical Advisor, where you will play a key role in providing scientific and medical expertise across therapeutic areas. This is a broad and strategic role with a strong emphasis on prelaunch and launch activities for new products. While the position is designed to support various therapeutic areas over time, your initial focus will be within Neuroscience, contributing to the launch and prelaunch of two upcoming products and supporting one mature product. You will act as the scientific expert, delivering medical insights and guidance to both internal and external stakeholders—with a primary focus on external engagement.
OBJECTIVES/PURPOSE
Develop and execute the Swedish medical strategy for assigned therapeutic areas, including marketed, pipeline, and launch products, in close collaboration with the cross-functional team.
Build strong internal and external partnerships, including with KOLs, to identify synergies that benefit patients.
Act as the key link between Global Medical and the cross-functional team, ensuring alignment on global tactics and sharing local insights.
Champion collaboration across Sweden and the Nordics, promoting a unified mindset.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
Medical/Scientific Affairs
Develop and align Swedish medical strategies with brand and business plans across marketed, pipeline, and launch products.
Present clinical evidence to stakeholders in a non-promotional manner, identifying needs and fostering partnerships to improve healthcare.
Ensure scientific accuracy in promotional materials and provide medical input into marketing strategies and tactics.
Collaborate with Global, Regional, and LOC functions to ensure strategic alignment and stakeholder engagement.
Build and maintain strong KOL relationships, tailoring medical strategies to their needs.
Lead key medical activities such as advisory boards, education, and peer-to-peer training.
Manage medical budget, ensuring accurate accruals and tactical execution.
Promote digital engagement and enhance internal and external digital proficiency.
Attend relevant congresses and share insights with the team.
Cross-functional Collaboration
Align medical activities with brand strategy and ensure cross-functional awareness and communication.
Approve promotional materials and activities in Promomats and Veeva CRM.
Data Generation
Identify and leverage Swedish/Nordic data sources to address evidence gaps.
Lead evidence gap analysis and propose studies in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
Support study design, conduct, analysis, and publication for local MACs and IIRs.
Collaborate with Clinical Operations to attract Takeda trials and support investigators.
EDUCATION, COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS
A university degree or equivalent experience in life science is required, a master’s degree, Doctoral or Post-Doctoral diploma in life science is highly desirable.
5+ years of previous experience from medical affairs in pharma companies in roles such as Medical Advisor or equivalent
Experience with launches and prelaunch in Sweden is a must
Strong technical understanding of the RWD/RWE and R&D/Clinical Operation functions clinical trial processes
Previous experience in the field of Neuroscience is preferred
Fluent in written and spoken Swedish and English
