Job Description

Job Title: Strategic Portfolio Management & Launch Excellence Manager

Location: TWN - Taipei

About the role:

The Strategic Portfolio Management and Launch Excellence Manager will lead Takeda’s Taiwan portfolio optimization and product launch strategies across therapeutic areas including, but not limited to immunology, oncology, neuroscience, rare disease and vaccine. The role supports launch preparations, develops innovative solutions for launch challenges, and actively manages uncertainties to maximize the value of Takeda’s brands in Taiwan. He/She is responsible for delivering and facilitating cross-functional alignment to a globally consistent launch framework and process for Taiwan's launch planning and execution, while leading Taiwan’s launch management performance to maximize the potential of innovative product launches. This involves aligning investments with innovation priorities, driving cross-functional collaboration, mitigating risks, leveraging market intelligence, and establishing scalable processes to ensure successful launches, optimized business impact, and improved health outcomes.

How you will contribute:

Lead Portfolio Optimization

  • Strategically assess and manage Takeda’s Taiwan product portfolio, including new products across therapeutic areas, including immunology, oncology, neuroscience, rare diseases, and vaccines, ensuring alignment with global innovation priorities and maximizing business value.

Drive Launch Planning and Execution

  • Support launch preparations by developing innovative solutions to address launch challenges, actively managing uncertainties, and leading cross-functional alignment to implement a globally consistent Launch Readiness framework tailored to Taiwan’s market needs.

Maximize New Product Launch Potential

  • Lead cross-functional teams in developing strategic market plans, including target product profiles, positioning, customer segmentation, and early-stage market development for new product planning. Oversee Taiwan’s launch management processes and in-licensing activities to maximize innovative product potential, ensuring measurable impact and alignment with revenue and timeline goals.

Strategic Market Planning

  • Leverage market intelligence and competitive insights to anticipate risks, adapt strategies to evolving challenges, and implement scalable solutions that ensure successful launch outcomes and improved health outcomes for patients in Taiwan.

Promote Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Ensure collaboration between LOC and above-country stakeholders including APAC, GEM and Global to ensure best practice sharing and transfer of launch excellence knowledge / capabilities across the region

What you bring to Takeda:

Experience

  • Minimum 5-8 years of relevant work experience with proven ability in marketing and sales, with a focus on product portfolio management, strategic planning, and innovative product launches within the healthcare or pharmaceutical industry

  • Proven understanding of Taiwan regulatory affairs, healthcare market, national health insurance system and local pharmaceutical industry to identify launch risk/opportunity analysis, critical successful factors and facilitate the launch preparation

  • Proven track record of leading cross-functional teams and delivering successful product launches in complex, matrixed environments

  • Experience in in-licensing activities or managing partnerships is highly valued

  • Experience in portfolio management, product launch excellence, or related disciplines are advantageous

  • Demonstrated experience in leveraging market insights for risk management and strategy adaptation

  • Operational Efficiency: Skilled in establishing scalable processes, managing timelines effectively, and meeting financial and operational targets

Additional Skills

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities to influence stakeholders across functions and geographies

  • Proficiency in project management tools, analytics platforms, and presentation/reporting methodologies

  • High adaptability and cultural awareness for working in regional and global environments

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

Both domestic/international business trips (as required)
