OBJECTIVES/PURPOSE
Global Corporate Communications Japan team is responsible for helping to enhance and protect Takeda’s reputation at the corporate level in Japan where Takeda’s global headquarters is located.
The team builds, protests and promotes the company’s brand in Japan and ensures Takeda’s message is communicated consistently externally, and our communications is compliant with regulatory requirements such as Tokyo Stock Exchange/New York Stock Exchange.
The Lead, Japan Communications will report to the Head, Japan Communications. This role will support the strategic development and execution of corporate-level communications plans. This includes working with leadership in business units in Japan to align on communications priorities, providing strategic counsel, and managing day-to-day communications activities, including media outreach and issues management. This position will interact with C-suite level management.
Support Head, Japan Communications and other members in developing and executing the media relations activities, including developing relationships with reporters, managing response to media inquiries and serving as a corporate spokesperson.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
Support Head, Japan Communications with data, digital and technology plus AI capabilities in planning and executing owned media strategies including social media to enhance Takeda’s corporate brand in Japan.
Support developing media activities including quarterly earnings media call/conference, press conference, media briefings, media engagement activities and execute them with excellence. Collaborate with other team members as necessary beyond the reporting line.
Support executing the branding campaign including contents creation contents in line with key messages of the branding campaign, progress monitoring of each project, external vendor management and knowledge sharing with other colleagues in the team for a broader execution.
Support developing impactful messaging and communications materials with excellence including stand-by statements, reference documents, among other materials for all key questions and stakeholders' engagement when issues arise in the Japan market.
Develop and maintain relevant information about Takeda in Japanese for use with external audiences, including fact sheets, messaging documents, infographic copy, boilerplates, leadership bios and other written external materials•
Curate the content and translation review on Japan external corporate website, when needed, while collaborating with the function in charge of technical management.
Align closely with other departments, including attending internal communicator meetings, understanding communication goals/objectives, managing issues proactively and responding to requests promptly.

Takeda Compensation and Benefits Summary:
Allowances: Commutation, Housing, Overtime Work etc.
Salary Increase: Annually, Bonus Payment: Twice a year
Working Hours: Headquarters (Osaka/ Tokyo) 9:00-17:30, Production Sites (Osaka/ Yamaguchi) 8:00-16:45, (Narita) 8:30-17:15, Research Site (Kanagawa) 9:00-17:45
Holidays: Saturdays, Sundays, National Holidays, May Day, Year-End Holidays etc. (approx. 123 days in a year)
