Job Description

This position reports to the Payable Finance Solution Lead (TBS PFS Lead). The position is accountable for delivering end to end solutions related to account payable process. To aim Operational Excellence, need to collaborate with Global TBS Procurement team, and TBS-Japan other teams. To be fully accountable for our performance, consider Automation by implementing Digitalization (Gen AI/RPA) to business processes and promote saving for each department end users and own team members. This position is also expected to be a true partner with business units.

To provide innovative and high-value solutions to relevant business units, all members of TBS, including this position, are required to integrate talent, processes, and systems, take the lead in adopting evolving technologies such as Gen AI, RPA, and process automation. And promote agile approaches.

Key objectives include:

  • Provide leadership and manage the team that is responsible for accurate and timely payments via account payable process with PFS Lead.

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive plan to optimize PFS processes, focusing on compliance, operational excellence, and enhancing user experiences.

  • Deliver the solutions efficiently, transparently, and in compliance with relevant regulations, including SOX compliance and financial risk management.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams in Source to Pay (S2P) to have streamline processes, improve user experiences, and drive continuous improvement.

  • Work closely with global Procure to Pay (P2P) team to align process-related goals, share best practices, and contribute to global process improvement efforts.

  • Build trusted relationships with stakeholders in Japan and across Takeda globally, aligning with the global direction while addressing local requirements in the area of PFS.

  • Drive innovation by leveraging data and digital, including latest technologies such as Gen AI.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

[Major Responsibilities]

  • This position takes responsibility for harmonizing, optimizing, automating, and robotizing the end-to-end processes of the Account Payables process in Japan, with a strong focus on driving innovation.

  • In addition to that, he/she leads the digital adoption in the PFS processes, including the implementation of Gen AI to leverage technological advancements for improved financial processes.

  • As a team manager, he/she guides and empowers team members to effectively execute their responsibilities, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.

  • Collaborate with TBS-J teams and the other Global Procurement Solutions organizations to achieve desired outcomes and drive collaboration across relevant PFS processes.

  • Mitigate & control financial risk from SOX point of view for account payable operations, Ensuring robust controls are in place, aligned with Financial Risks and Controls (FRC) requirements.

  • Utilizing TBS business partnering methodology to provide regular status reports and forecasts to internal and external stakeholders, to drive and execute organizational and performance improvements by Data & Digital.

  • Maintains/Raises reputation of TBS by good communication/relationship with the stakeholders.

【Skills & Knowledge】

Required:

  • Basic Accounting knowledge, especially in Accounts Payable area

  • Basic knowledge of financial accounting and related regulations (JGAAP, IFRS, tax law, subcontract law, etc.)

  • Experience in solving problems and improving operations such as the payment process or purchasing

  • Basic knowledge of the internal control system (USSOX etc.)

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills both in English and Japanese

  • Team management skills

  • Project management methodologies (e.g. Agile solution development)

Preferred:

  • Experience of ERP system (Examples: SAP FI Module, Ariba Guided Buying, InvoiceTrack)

  • Project management, lead experience (e.g., Agile Development)

  • Utilization the Continuous Improvement Methodology (e.g. Lean Six Sigma)

  • Experience with Source To Pay Process

  • Knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry
