Job Description
About the role:
As the MES Business Owner for the Vienna production site, you will be responsible for the MES business process across all Vienna Takeda manufacturing facilities. During MES implementation project phases, you will lead Operations Meetings, actively support local Manufacturing MES project teams, participate and network in global meetings, and collaborate with Business and System Owners from global sites. In this dynamic and versatile role, you will work interdisciplinarily with various departments, playing a vital role in driving project and implementation success.
How you will contribute:
MES Strategy & Routine Management:
- Address and integrate MES topics from routine operations.
- Serve as the plant’s single-point owner for systems used in manufacturing processes, ensuring alignment with global MES standards.
Project Management & Communication:
- Monitor and communicate project statuses with clear accountability for actions.
- Act as a central point of contact for projects, consolidating and managing tasks effectively.
Performance Indicators & Reports:
- Design KPIs and create performance reports.
- Ensure structured and analytical documentation using presentations, 4-blockers
Cross-functional Collaboration:
- Engage with Supply Chain, Finance, Manufacturing, and global MES groups to build alignment.
- Drive equipment and interface development between systems and support tools for optimal benefits (e.g., identification systems).
Audit Lead & SME Support:
- Represent MES processes and systems effectively in audits and inspections.
- Act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for system deviations & Change Controls, ensuring compliance and issue resolution.
Global Integration & Standards Alignment at Vienna Site:
- Collaborate with global MES owners to synchronize plant MES usage with global standards
- Build Network with other Takeda sites to share learnings
- Lead plant-wide System usage optimizations in line with compliance.
- Coordinate downtime requirements across units and functions.

- Excellent collaboration skills across functions: DD&T, MFG, QA, Engineering/Automation, and external partners.
- Analytical thinking, structured work style, and independent decision-making.
- Team spirit with strong communication abilities.
Technical Expertise:
- Solid understanding of IT/automation and MES systems.
- Good GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) process and DI (Data Integrity) knowledge.
Project Management Competence:
- Proven experience in project/portfolio management and leadership in cross-functional teams.
Education/ experience/language:
- University or university of applied sciences degree
- at least 5 years of professional experience in the pharmaceutical industry
- experienced in project management and leading crossfunctional project teams
- solid knowledge in Data Integrity
- knowledge in computerized system validation
- Fluent in Englisch and German

A competitive remuneration package with a minimum salary of € 5.598,85 gross per month (full-time, collective wage agreement for the chemical industry) - the actual salary is higher and depends on your professional experience and qualifications.
