Opportunity
A Research Investigator is to collaborate with Scientist on innovative programs to improve the process, and product quality of plasma-derived therapies, optimized for patients. This includes evaluation and process development of new products, alternative fractionation technologies and extraction of new plasma proteins.
Job Responsibilities
- Develop and test theories on the physical, chemical, and/or biological properties of materials and ingredients under various conditions
- Devise research methods, prepare technical specifications, and specify laboratory test equipment and processes
- Make recommendations concerning the acquisition and use of new technological equipment and materials
- Manage projects and processes, working independently with limited supervision
- Coach and review the work of lower-level professionals
- Address moderate scope problems, applying judgment within defined procedures and policies
- Ensure project completion on schedule, primarily liaising internally with subordinates and supervisors
- Exploring innovative methods / projects / programs to improve the quality and efficient production of plasma-derived therapies for global and local distribution
- Writing / reviewing experimental summary reports
- Writing / reviewing study plans and study reports
- Preparation of standard templates for SBR / RDS
- Ordering of lab consumables/materials/filters/resins; take on, use, re-order
Job Requirements
- BSc or MSc degree of chemistry, biochemistry, biology, biotechnology, chemical/process engineering or related fields is required
- Scientific knowledge in process development and about plasma derived therapies fractionation and purification processes
- Good oral and written English communication skills required
- Ability to work independent and as part of a collaborative team
- Critical thinking and problem solving skills
- Knowledge of state of the art technologies within the scientific community in life sciences
- Good communication, organization, and time management skills
- The incumbent must be creative, courageous, collaborative, solution-focused and work mostly independent
- External communication with vendors, customers, service providers and collaborators as required to fulfill the assigned technical tasks
- Willingness to work at lab and pilot scale at ambient and cooled temperatures during experimental setups
- Basic knowledge of Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) concepts beneficially
- Basic statistical modelling capabilities
Motivated employees must be remunerated appropriately. The minimum annual salary for this important and responsible position is €64,100 gross per year (full time). The actual remuneration package will be guided by your professional experience and your qualifications, so increased payment is possible.
