The DD&T Business Partner for Planning Excellence serves as the strategic technology partner for the planning domain across GSQ and PDT. The role connects business priorities with digital capabilities, shapes the technology roadmap, and helps deliver scalable, compliant, and business-value-driven solutions that strengthen planning performance and resilience, powered by state-of-the-art planning technologies like SAP IBP.
The Digital Business Partner reports to the DD&T Head of Digital Supply Chain.
Job Description
This role bridges business strategy and digital execution to advance Planning capabilities through trusted data, analytics, and process transformation.
- Acts as the strategic DD&T partner for our Supply Planning, Demand Planning and S&OP organizations, aligning business priorities, operating model transformation, and digital capabilities.
- Serves as the Application Manager for the respective DD&T Supply Chain applications, ensuring reliable operations, clear ownership, and strong adherence to DD&T application management principles, in collaboration with the DD&T Architecture Council.
- Defines the technology roadmap, prioritizes investments, and enables scalable, compliant, and business-value-driven solutions, including AI-based capabilities that accelerate business model transformation across supply chain planning processes.
- Serves as a trusted advisor to business leadership, influencing decisions across a complex global stakeholder landscape and shaping future-ready planning capabilities.
- Combines business partnership, supply chain planning expertise, and SAP-enabled transformation leadership to strengthen planning performance, standardization, resilience, and intelligent decision-making.
How you will contribute:
- Lead the DD&T partnership for Supply Chain Planning, Demand Planning & S&OP, aligning business priorities, operating model transformation, and digital capabilities across strategic, tactical, and operational horizons.
- Shape the technology roadmap, guide investment decisions, and prioritize initiatives that deliver scalable, compliant, and business-value-driven solutions across the planning domain.
- Partner with business and DD&T stakeholders to define the target-state capability landscape and embed AI-based solutions that accelerate operating model transformation, improve compliance, and strengthen execution discipline.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to senior business leaders, translating priorities into decisions, delivery plans, and future-ready planning capabilities.
- Be an active member of the Global DD&T GSQ & PDT Digital Supply Chain team and support the development of the global DD&T strategy.
- Collaborate with the respective DD&T DSC Delivery Leads to ensure alignment on scoping, milestones, with a balanced funding consumption, to deliver the approved business objectives and priorities.
- Oversee service performance for supply chain planning solutions, ensuring internal teams and external partners deliver agreed service levels and business outcomes.
- Partner with the DD&T DSC Delivery & Service Manager, with a focus on improving the service level during the transition from implementation to regular support, as well as business-as-usual periods, with a focus on improving constantly application adoption.
- Translate critical business challenges into effective digital and AI-based solutions by assessing process gaps, evaluating options, and guiding design and delivery decisions.
- Strengthen planning performance, standardization, resilience, and intelligent decision-making through modernization, rationalization, and platform adoption.
- Balance local business needs with enterprise priorities for global harmonization, standardization, cybersecurity, and operational resilience.
- Build trusted relationships with senior DD&T stakeholders, strategic vendors, and service partners to enable execution, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Support portfolio financial discipline by managing budgets, funding priorities, vendor scope, and cost optimization opportunities.
- Strengthen organizational capability through talent development, cross-functional collaboration, and the adoption of digital ways of working.
- Maintain Vendor relationship, and close collaboration with Procurement to set up MSA, SOWs, SaaS agreements for the services related to the owned applications.
- Ensure initiatives are delivered in line with enterprise frameworks, quality standards, and regulatory requirements, including QMS, SDLC, and ITPLC.
Skills and qualifications
CORE ELEMENTS RELATED TO THIS ROLE
- Proven experience in business partnering, portfolio prioritization, strategic planning, and service delivery within a complex DD&T environment.
- Strong expertise in Supply Chain Planning, including demand planning, S&OP, supply planning, inventory optimization, production planning, and scheduling.
- Deep knowledge of SAP-based planning solutions in large enterprise environments, ideally including SAP IBP, SAP S/4HANA, and SAP APO.
- Proven ability to translate business requirements into scalable technology solutions and lead cross-functional delivery across internal teams and external partners.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence senior business and DD&T leaders.
- Experience defining digital strategy, shaping target-state architecture, and aligning investments to measurable business value.
- Strong leadership skills, including team leadership, vendor management, and collaboration across matrixed organizations.
- Sound business and technology judgment, with the ability to challenge assumptions, drive change, and support effective decision-making.
- Experience operating in regulated, global, and transformation-driven environments, including modernization, harmonization, and large-scale IT change.
- Familiarity with agile delivery, product management, and continuous improvement practices.
EDUCATION, BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS
- Bachelor’s degree required; an advanced degree in Information Technology, Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- Significant experience in information technology, digital transformation, or enterprise applications, with strong exposure to supply chain planning platforms and processes.
- 5-7 years relevant experience in Pharma Life Science or similar industry is a plus
- Have a strong Supply Chain Business understanding
- Experience leading teams and managing third-party service providers in a global environment.
- Strong ability to assess emerging technologies and translate them into business opportunities, solution options, and implementation roadmaps.
- Demonstrated strength in stakeholder alignment, business needs analysis, customer focus, execution, and people leadership.
- Proven experience working with senior leaders and navigating cross-functional decision-making in complex organizations.
