About the Role:

Lead Global Pricing Strategies and pricing decisions across the portfolio to enable patient access while maximizing the value of Takeda products. Infuses pricing excellence and a value-based mindset throughout all strategic pricing activities. 

How you will contribute:

  • Be a key partner, represent the Global Pricing team and serve as the primary point-of-contact for assigned markets within the IBU structure, holding responsibility for providing pricing-implementation support aligned with pricing guidance and governance.  

  • Provide/withhold endorsement of product price proposals consistent with global guidance & governance at launch and any list & net price post-launch for assigned markets (considering IRP and adherence to global pricing strategies).

  • Monitor implementation of local pricing governance, including the harmonization of pricing definitions and adherence to global pricing governance.  

  • Collaborate closely with Global Access Strategy to develop access and pricing strategies for allocated late-stage pipeline and launch assets, and with IBU Access teams to ensure seamless execution across launch and inline products. 

  • Develop and update pricing guidance and price strategy aligned with access strategy (e.g. tiered pricing, MRP, LRF) assets including Lifecycle Management, and LOE strategy to maximize the asset/portfolio value in close partnership with Global Access Strategy (for new launches) and for IBU Access team for inline products. 

  • Drive and coordinate pricing research activities for late-stage pipeline, close Launch and inline products, in close collaboration with global and cross-functional teams (e.g., Market Access Strategy, IBU Access Team), to contribute to asset access strategy and price guidance development. 

  • Identify and monitor competitive pricing policy trends for allocated geographies, synthesize competitor pricing information (including biosimilars and generics) for allocated assets, and initiate appropriate actions in close collaboration with Global Access Strategy and IBU Access teams. 

  • Collaborate with key stakeholders for the global launch planning process for assigned areas to maximize the asset/portfolio value. 

  • Provide contributions to the development of innovative pricing strategies, and value-based contracts for late-stage pipeline products based on comprehensive assessments of value potential and recommend adaptations where appropriate. 

  • Provide input, as needed, into the price assessment of early-stage products and due diligence projects to validate the price, dosing, endpoint, and comparator selection from a price implementation and realization point of view. 

  • Serve as a pricing subject matter expert on key global markets, delivering insights on major developments to contribute to and shape pricing strategy decisions for assigned products and geographies. 

  • Lead and be a role model to digital capability adoption throughout the GPA community.  

  • Cultivate a value-based mindset in all stakeholder interactions. 

Skills:

  • University degree required, Master’s and/or PhD in Healthcare discipline or Business preferred 

  • 8-10 years of pharmaceutical experience with a strong preference of direct experience in international pricing and reimbursement 

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in global pricing or market access role required with LoC experience preferred  

  • Experience in establishing and managing effective business processes

  • Expertise in pricing and reimbursement policies including knowledge of the global pricing environment and interdependencies of pricing strategies.   

  • Strategical leadership in Global Pricing with potential significant business impact.  

  • Critical Thinking & Problem Solving: Excellence in complex multi-criterial analysis with variable uncertainties in a dynamic environment.   

  • Results: Strong prioritization capabilities, results driven.  

  • Business Acumen: Extensive understanding of business processes, able to shape and improve processes. 

  • Highly collaborative and cross-functional excellence oriented – recognized leader for pricing activities across Global, Regional and Country teams.  

  • Ensures timely engagement and alignment of key stakeholders and Senior Leadership endorsement of key pricing decisions.  

Location: While Zurich is the preferred location, we are open to considering candidates based in select European locations where Takeda has an established employing entity, subject to business needs and local employment requirements.

Compensation: The salary range displayed reflects the primary location associated with this posting. Compensation may vary for candidates considered in other locations.
